Mossburn - deer capital of NZ. Beautiful statue of mighty elk which I visit every year religiously. Its nice to see that people respect the game that brought in prosperity and life into the forests and fjords. It was cold and rainy March so elk started to sing love songs in the hills. Mossburn is small farming town but significant for deer ( history) and deer industry of NZ. Short drive later is Te Anau - gateway to Fjordland.
